A decorated Caymanian high school basketball player signs the dotted line to play at the next level.
Bodden Town native Justin Collins recently accepted a scholarship offer to play at Cal State University Los Angeles.
Collins played his high school ball at Santa clarity Christian High School, in California, where he earned conference most valuable player honours this year. Collins is a 6-foot, 2-inch guard who has represented Cayman on the under-19 national team. He helped his high school to a state championship last year. The move was announced on social media.
Collins is certainly not the only player who has moved onto the college ranks through the pipeline set up between Cayman and Santa Clarita. Caymanians Chris Collins, Philipp Webb and Tikko Moore also went on to play college hoops after attending Santa Clarita.
Cal State University LA is an NCAA Division II school located in Los Angeles. The Golden Eagles are coming off an 18-win season, most for the program in nearly two decades.
