Egypt dodgeball league builds up to World Cup

It’s a sport that is usually played for fun but for these young Egyptians dodge ball is their passion and they’re dreaming of World Cup glory.

Dodge ball started gaining popularity in Egypt around 2004 through summer camps and now they’ve set up a league hoping to select Egypt’s best dodge ballers to represent the country at the 2018 World Cup.

An Egyptian team participated at the 2015 World Cup but they were beaten. Egypt was the only team sent from Africa to the 2015 World Cup in Manchester, England. They recently had open try-outs and through a process of elimination they selected a team consisting of 10 girls and 10 boys.

To enter the 2018 World Cup the players will compete with three other African teams next year to see which team will take part.
