Manny Pacquiao is set to arrive in the Cayman Islands as both a boxer and a community leader.
During a press conference Thursday (10 November) detailing his 7 January visit, organisers said Mr. Pacquiao will visit Health City Cayman Islands and possibly help link children in the Philippines with the Have a Heart Cayman Islands programme.
“We look forward to having a strategic partnership not with Manny Pacquiao the boxer but Manny Pacquiao the senator to see the potential of helping any kids that he would know of within the Philippines in order to give them live-saving heart surgeries free of cost,” HCCI Hospital Marketing Director Shonari Scott said.
Pacquiao’s visit centres around boxing, however, and he’s slated to break ground on the new Bodden Town boxing gym while he’s in the country.
