Russell’s hearing enters final stretch

West Indies Cricketer Andre Russell’s fate will be decided soon as his hearing enters the final stretch for his alleged anti-doping violation.

The final written submissions made by both parties, Russell and the Jamaica Anti-doping Commission were heard today, t will then be determine whether Russell was guilty of violating WADA’S whereabouts clause. Russell failed to file his whereabouts for drug testing 3 times over a 12 month span. The hearing is significant because an athlete can be suspended for up to two years under the WADA code. If three tests in a year are missed it amounts to a failed doping test.

The prominent international cricketer represented Twenty20 cricket franchises in India, Bangladesh, Australia and England.
