Cull surpasses 160K green iguanas

Licensed green iguana cullers are still delivering thousands of iguanas to the landfill per day as the cull enters week five.

Buoyed by a big first week of culling, the average daily tally over 23 counting days stands at just under 7,000 per day.

In the cull’s fourth week, cullers’ collective performance slipped a bit, to about 5,300 per day.

Five weeks in, cullers are roughly 11% of the way towards the Department of Environment’s 14-month cull goal of $1.4M.

The overall cull total for the first four weeks sits at 160,245.
