Officers from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service showed their colleagues today on how easy it is to help someone having a heart attack.
The Cayman Heart Fund recently donated automated external defibrillators for police to carry in their vehicles.
AED machines are portable devices that have the technology to automatically diagnose people who are experiencing heart trouble.
“We donated a lot of AED’s so that they will be dispersed throughout the country and I believe that we have the most AED’s in the best locations and the highest amount per capita of anywhere in the world.” Said Director of Cayman Heart Fund, Suzy Soto
AED’s can be found in every school, hospital and places that have a lot of human traffic, such as reception areas and super markets.
