Cayman Heart Luncheon

The Cayman Heart Fund put on a special luncheon to highlight those who are faced with the harsh reality of heart disease.

More than 200 people gathered at the marriot to show support for the Cayman Heart Fund and awards were handed out to those who have survived heart related health issues, among them, three-year-old Christiano McKenzie who has hypoplastic left heart syndrome. A birth defect that affects normal blood flow through the heart.

“He fights through everything, for a child to go through an open heart surgery at five weeks old and survive he’s considered a warrior and he’s been through two,” said Mario McKenzie from Team Christiano.

Another winner includes former Cayman 27 reporter Kevin Watler.
