D.E.H hires NiCE people

Workers who shined during last year’s “NiCE” seasonal employment programme earned themselves full-time work and the same could happen for standout employees this year.

The Department of Environmental Health will be hiring full-time, up to seven, who impressed supervisors during the 20-15 edition of the government-sponsored programme, meant to help unemployed Caymanians during the holiday season.
Those seven will soon start full-time work at the landfill working with the new recycling equipment.

“We’ve carried through on that promise and we’re hiring seven temporary workers for another three months starting january after this programme is complete and in addition we’ll be hiring, of those, we’ll be hiring five as permanent employees to run this programme for the next two years,” said Mark Rowland, Assistant Director for Department of Environmental Health.

Mr. Rowland says that next year there will be openings at the Department of Environmental health and will be taking the star employees from this years nice programme.
