Basketball: Ragin’ Cajuns knock off Iowa in day one of Cayman Classic

Here are your day one morning and afternoon highlights and scores from the Cayman Classic:

Louisiana 80 vs 71 Iowa

Bryce Washington scored 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and Louisiana-Lafayette defeated Iowa 80-71 in the opening game. Hawkeyes’ Isaiah Moss scored a career-high 24 points.

Wyoming 77 vs 65 South Dakota State

Cowboys’ senior forward Hayden Dalton scored 18 points as Wyoming beat South Dakota State 77-65. Jackrabbits Mike Daum scored 10 points while grabbing 9 rebounds.

Richmond 63 vs 50 Alabama-Birmingham

Freshman Grant Golden scored a career-high 26 points with seven rebounds, three blocks, two assists as the Spiders knocked off the UAB Blazers 63-50. Zack Bryant led UAB with 16 points. This was the only game to feature two Canadian players with UAB’s Nate Darling and Richmond’s Nathan Cayo.

Cincinnati 73 vs 67 Buffalo

The 12th ranked Bearcats held off the Bulls in the final game at the John Gray Gymnasium for a 73-67 win. Cincinnati’s Gary Clark lead the way with 24 points and 14 rebounds.

Iowa (away) vs. South Dakota State (home) 12:00pm

Semi Finals – Louisiana (away) vs. Wyoming (home) 2:30pm

UAB (away) vs. Buffalo (home) 5:00pm

Semi Finals – Richmond (away) vs. Cincinnati (home) 7:30pm
