Cricket: Chillies defeat Clean Gas in 100-Ball Tournament finale

Man of the Match Demar Johnson led the way with 60 runs off 37 balls as Chillies defeated Clean Gas  by 3 wickets Sunday (14 October) to win Cayman Cricket’s 100-Ball Tournament held at the Smith Road Oval.

“They are a really good team, with many national players. We saw them as a normal team. They did a really good job” said Chillies Kiran Thodkar.

Chillies won the toss and elect to field first. Clean Gas was led by Deno McGinnis’ 26 with Patrick Heron chipping in with 17 runs. Johnson and Thodkar combined to take four of seven wickets.

“I feel amazing right now. We won the title two years back, all our teammates did a really good job. Our captain is off island in India right now getting married. We all feel very happy.”
