Pedestrian in critical condition after Shamrock Rd collision

A pedestrian remains in hospital tonight (28 May) suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The mid-morning collision involved a man and a white motor vehicle on Shamrock Road and it left commuters in the Bodden Town area in standstill traffic for several hours.

The incident happened at around 10:30 a.m. in the vicinity of Trumbach Drive. The male victim was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital. Police have shared very few details on the incident, they said the matter is still under investigation.  Immediately after the collision, the roadway was blocked off as police directed traffic around the collision site.

The roadway was reopened a few hours later.
